If you want to join us for SnowJam Las Vegas on Friday, show up at our studio at 3pm this Friday for a cold one. Then we can carpool over to the Cashman Center, which is only about 5 minutes away.

Here’s their e-mail, which I got yesterday….

Ahead of the inevitable storms and 400″ of annual powder they receive, Brian Head Resort has already fired up their snowmaking guns (see above) and plans to open ASAP. The two mountains at Brian Head are now connected by new lifts, so you can cruise around all 650 acres without ever taking off your skis or snowboard!

Remember, you trade in your admission ticket at SnowJam for a FREE lift ticket to Brian Head worth $45!

Buy and print your SnowJam ticket or discount coupon now at www.snowjamshow.com and save $2 on each admission (every little bit helps!). An advance purchase SnowJam admission ticket is good for any of the 3 days of the expo, Nov. 21, 22 & 23.

Next Friday, Saturday & Sunday, Cashman Center will be filled to the gills with over $3 million worth of equipment, clothing and accessories, and in this economy our guys are willing to make unbelievable deals. And they’ve got tons of every great brand in the business. So if you beat up your gear over the last couple of seasons or you’re overdue for an upgrade, SnowJam is your one chance all year to save LARGE!

See you at the show!

I’d like to thank Erika and the folks at Glaceau for calling me to shoot for them at VooDoo Friday night. Check out the link below to view the gallery photos. There are some silly ones, and some sexy ones, and probably some stuff that you might not want your co-workers to see… perfect ingredients for a good party!

Here’s the link to the web gallery.

Today was an example of the cool opportunities that pop up from time to time living in Las Vegas. I’m not necessarily an Auto Buff, but I have a heavy appreciation for classic cars. Especially VW’s and Mustangs. Today, Jake and I went to Mandalay Bay, and were treated to Free Passes to the Barrett-Jackson Collector’s Auction.

Check out the photos I took with my ever-impressive Canon SD630 Digital Elph. The gallery is available for viewing at this link. Enjoy!

Special thanks to Sloshspot.com for posting this interview on their blog. We at Black Diamond Digital have been big fans of New Belgium Brewery for over 10 years. In fact, we visited last month while in “Fort Fun” and enjoyed a 12 pack of Fat Tire (in cans, to our surprise). I drank one with dinner last night, and we still have  a fridge full. Stop by and have one with us!

Here’s a link to the interview with the Brewmaster at New Belgium Brewing. I recommend spending some time on the company site, as well. It’s insipring to see a company grow on their terms: maintain it’s integrity, it’s image (stellar graphic design all around), an environmental stance, and still manage to have a hell of a good time while making big profits at the same time. Cheers!

Watch Big Bang Theory. When it’s over, pause your TV on the Chuck Lorre Productions blurb. You won’t be sorry.

Tonight’s post was about Las Vegas, so I felt obligated to represent. I got a laugh.

Check it out here.

This is genius on so many levels. First, it’s great design and photography. Second, it’s knowing your demographic. Third, it’s going to kick up some awesome publicity for Burton – the godfather of snowboarding companies. There’s a thousand snowboard companies – this strategic move shows Burton’s still the king.

Burton released photos recently of the new Burton “Love” series featuring vintage Playboy Playmates. Clean and classy, these boards are sure to piss off overprotective moms on slopes all across North America. Kudos to Burton. I love it that Burton has the cojones to do this, and I’ll continue to support them.  Here’s some snaps from Burton.com. Enjoy them, you perverts!

This blog post on Technologizer.com is hilarious. Who hasn’t experienced one of these “Greatest Error Messages of all time?”  The winner is pretty predictable, but the photos that showcase where it’s taken place are awesome.

Thanks to Slashdot and, um, Harry McCracken, for the post. Here’s a link.

Thanks to Victor, our Las Vegas AIGA Advisory Board Director, for helping to bring the China Design Expedition experience to Las Vegas on the 3rd of October. Join us at the newly renovated 5th Street School to listen and learn from Bennett Peji, District Branding Consultant, AIGA Fellow and National AIGA Board Member, Cristina Montoya, AIGA San Diego & Stacey Szabo, AIGA San Diego.

Here’s a link to the event details. See you there!

Hey, sorry if you missed it, but last night’s AIGA Nuclear Font Lab was a kick in the pants. We joined dozens of creatives, (both AIGA members and non-members, students and professionals) from the Las Vegas area in listening and learning from legendary alphebetician Chank Diesel, from font mega-house, Chank.com. The event took place in none other than the Las Vegas Atomic Testing Museum, and was appropriately titled Chank’s Nuclear Font Lab. Check out the photos of the event HERE. Special thanks to Chank and his lovely wife; Christy and Joy from Mohawk Paper, and of course, Krystal and the rest of the AIGA Board Members who make killer events like this possible.
